Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated was founded on January 16, 1920 on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. by five lovely women. The five lovely pearls are Arizona Cleaver Stemons, Myrtle Tyler Faithful, Viola Tyler Goings, Pearl Anna Neal and Fannie Pettie Watts.

They established this organization on the principles of scholarship, service, sisterhood and finer womanhood. ​

The Eta Phi Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated was chartered on the campus of Portland State University on March 27, 2017. The chartering members are Sade Beasley, Kyra Berry, Taianna Campbell, Veronika Evans, Kian McNair-Speech, Demian Lucus, Tiara Simpson and Jasmine Taylor.

Eta Phi is the first Black Greek Letter Sorority to have a single charter on the campus of Portland State University. 
Motto: A Community-Conscious, Action-Oriented Organization

Mission: Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated is the leading community-conscious organization for Finer Women striving to empower the disenfranchised of the people and are called to higher purpose of service.

Vision: Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is the foremost network of socially and politically conscious. We care. We act. We help change.
